Birnie Team Audit Isle of Man Meat Company

With our extensive experience in the Agri-Food Sector, Birnie Consultancy along with a group of associates were recently appointed by the Isle of Man Goverment to conduct an Audit of Isle of Man Meats.

The team covered a wide remit including:

• Management structures

• Board structures and processes

• Plant operations

• Plant processes

• Slaughterline management

• Health and Safety

• Sales

• Customer relationships

While conducting the audit, the team analysed a wide range of data from procurement records to gradings, financial records, invoicing, and health and safety records. They also conducted interviews with past and current staff, the board of directors as well as customers and other stakeholder groups to gain as wide a view as possible of the operations of Isle of Man Meats.

With the audit completed, the team was able to submit a comprehensive report outlining positives and negatives in all areas along with a list of recommendations that will see Isle of Man Meats go from strength to strength on the island. You can read the entire report here.
